Thanksgiving Food and Fund Drive

Hello Neighbors! No one should go hungry, especially at Thanksgiving. The Alanton Civic League is leading the second annual neighborhood Food and Fund Drive in partnership with the Foodbank and the Junior Civic League.

  Last year we collected over a ton of food, turkeys, canned goods and other needed items, plus over $300 in donations. This year we hope to bring in two tons of donations and $500 in funds! The Foodbank provides food to children, seniors and families who are hungry in our community. Want to help? It’s super easy. Here’s how it works:  

• Request a Donation Box- email mbroome@alanton.org and request a Donation Box to be dropped off on your front steps, or call or text 757-416-4897. The box is 18” X 24”. We will deliver it to you. You just fill with items for donation.
• Box Drop-Off Nov. 3rd – 8th- Volunteers from the Junior Civic League will drop the cardboard donation box off the week of November 3rd   on your front porch.
• Fill the box with items on the “Most Needed” list, inside the box.
• Box Pick-Up Saturday, Nov. 22ndPlace the filled donation box on your front steps the morning of Nov. 22^nd for pick up. Alanton volunteers and the Junior Civic League will pick it up, and volunteers will shuttle it to the Food Bank drop off. So Easy!
• Note: If you would like to send a monetary donation, we will include a Donation slip for your gift and also pick it up Saturday the 22nd. You can tape it to your door or drop it in the mail.

           With your donations and help, Alanton can help to provide food for our neighbors who are hungry.
